Obituary

Gale Lynn Ferguson, 65, joined his family and friends in Heaven on Sunday, June 7, 2020, following a sudden battle with lung cancer. Gale was born in Houston, Texas on January 30, 1955, to Danny Lee Ferguson and Barbara Ferguson. Gale was preceded in death by his parents and his twin, Dale. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Elizabeth, his daughter Heather Clark and her husband Richard, Son Ian Ferguson and his wife Tanya, and his son Lee Ferguson and his special friend Sarah Medellin. Gale is also survived by his grandchildren (Summerlyn Powell, Ethan Clark, Tinsley Ferguson, and John Robert Ferguson), his brother Randal Ferguson and his wife Rita, his sister Darla Hopkins and her husband Sam, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and co-workers whom Gale loved like a family. Gale graduated from Spring Woods High School in Houston and became a store manager with Homer's and Kay-Bee Toy and Hobby, before moving to Shreveport, Louisiana where he continued to work in sales and management. Gale loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends in places like Lake Tahoe, Denver, Colorado, Yellowstone National Park, Jamaica, Cancun, and Cozumel. He camped often in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Hot Springs, Arkansas, Toledo Bend State Park, Padre Island, and Atlanta, Texas. Rock hunting was one of Gale's favorite hobbies, and the crystal mines and diamond mines in Arkansas were favorite vacation spots. Gale's heart was genuine. He loved to make others laugh and will be missed by many. He loved life, his family and especially his children and grandchildren. Gale was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones and was willing to help anyone in need. As many know, he loved fishing, nature, art, photography, and telling jokes, but most of all Gale loved the Lord. Gale was a unique man, very much his own person. He could make you laugh, and he told you how it was. Gale was a loyal friend and cherished many of his friends to no end. The memories he made with each of you are so precious. Hold on to them forever. We ask that you honor Gale's life by extending kindness and love to those around you.

Philippians 1:3 "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you"

"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." "…away from the body and at home with the Lord." "Gale", "Dad", "Papaw Gale", "Big G" is present and at home.

John 14: 1-4 KJV

Let not you heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and received you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And wither I go ye know, and the way we know.

Today his family and friends are in mourning and heaven is rejoicing. Gale Lynn Ferguson has gone home to Glory.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 30, 2021.
