Fredrick Denzil Bennett was born on January 31, 1941 and entered into eternal life on July 1, 2023.

For many years, Fred worked at Homewood Apartments as a manager, under Buddy Smith.

After retiring, he loved picking on and joking around with his friends, being outdoors, cooking cakes, and roses.

Fred is survived by his children, Freddy and Dolly; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and his adopted family of 27 years, Ruby Lewis, Wendy and Franklin Ordondez, Jamie and Candy Church, Catherine and Jose Estrada, and Dorothy (better known as Dee).  These are just a few of the names in this family that took him in as their adopted father, adopted grandfather, or just adopted family!

These last years of his life were not easy for Fred.  He has been battling Sarcoma, first in his left leg (with this battle he had 2 surgeries and 37 radiation treatments and eventually in his lungs.  He did chemotherapy for awhile, but eventually decided that he wanted to spend his last couple of months enjoying his family and friends at home, until God decided to call him to  his forever Home with HIM!

The family and friends would like to thank all of Fred's doctors, nurses, and Superior Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during this time.

A memorial service will be held from 2 PM - 4 PM on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the chapel of Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana 71115.
