Obituary

Fred Allen Dozier, SMSgt USAF, Retired, died at age 82 on February 26, 2023 at his home. He was born November 24, 1940, in Shreveport to Doshie McCartney Dozier and Chiles Deason Dozier, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Nan White Dozier of Pineville LA, whom he married on July 19, 1964.

Their children are Julia Elizabeth Dozier Lankford of Nashville TN born February 17, 1967  and Robert Allen Dozier born August 7, 1970, and married to Christina Payne Dozier.

Grandchildren are  Caroline Elizabeth Lankford  and William Wesley Lankford of Nashville.

He is also survived by his sister, Mary Virginia Dozier Prosperie Guice of Longview, Texas.

Fred graduated from LaSalle High School in LaSalle Parish and attended Louisiana College, Pineville LA.

He entered the United States Air Force in 1961 and served until 1981, with assignments at Barksdale AFB,Louisiana, Mildenhall Royal Air Force Base, Suffolk, England and RAF Lakenheath. He served in the Nightwatch  squadron at Andrews AFB, Washington DC and at Strategic Air Command Headqtrs at Offutt AFB.  He spent a year on the island of Shemya, Aleutian Islands, Alaska, supporting Cobra Ball.

In 1981, he and his family moved to Richardson, Texas where he worked for Rockwell Collins designing avionics and then for Boeing International Modification Center in Shreveport.

Fred loved making music, playing trombone in high school marching band and Louisiana College marching band.  He was happy singing with or directing a choir. He studied conducting at LC and was a music director in several churches and chapels throughout his USAF career.  He was most often accompanied on the piano and organ by his wife, Nan.

His loyalty was a virtue.  His respect for the United States of America

and military service was undoubtable.

His joy was in his family and will last forever.
