Obituary

Ernest Jack Bennie Smitty Smith, age 89, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was born on June 2, 1932 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Smitty lived in Shreveport since 1966. He proudly served his country and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He loved the Lord and served as the doorman to greet God's people at Bethel Assembly of God for over three decades. He dearly loved his family and was known to all as a cut-up. He loved to help people any way that he could. Smitty was a salesman and was the number one salesman wherever he was at. He loved softball and watching the girls play, often offering a "Lincoln" for a homerun.

He was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life for 44 years, Loriane Smith.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Sister Betty Smith; daughter Melisa Hebert and husband Bruce; step-daughters Alice Brooks, Barbara Martin, Virginia Hale; 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

The family extends a special thanks to the VA, his caregiver Janette, and Dr. Shelborn for providing excellent care.

Visitation will be held at Aulds Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Funeral services will ne held at 3pm on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Bethel Assembly of God in Shreveport.
