Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Prestridge Remillard of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away at the age of 74, on Sunday, September 15, 2024, after an extended illness.

Ann was born on July 10, 1950, in Jackson, Mississippi, to T. D. Prestridge and Amy G. Prestridge. Her father's career took them to Thibodaux, Louisiana, where she lived until her family relocated to Alexandria, Louisiana. She graduated from Bolton High School in 1968, and then attended LSUA. She met and married her best friend, Gary D. Remillard, in 1969.

During her lifetime, Ann worked in home sales where she achieved gold status with Tupperware. She also worked for Dillard's for many years earning the highest sales standard and received the Pacesetter Award. She was well loved by her customers and coworkers. Ann served her church parish as a volunteer for the youth program and also served as hospitality chairperson for special events programs. In her leisure time, she loved being outdoors working in her yard, digging in the dirt and striving for a lovely flower garden.

Ann was a caring and loving person whose joy in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother; and also a friend to those in need. Her utmost priority was always her family; she adored her three grandsons and two granddaughters who always made her day when she spent time listening to their stories, hopes and dreams for the future.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Gary D. Remillard, and her parents, T. D. Prestridge and Amy G. Prestridge.

Left to cherish Ann's memory are her sons, Chris Remillard (Christine), Scott Remillard (Beth); grandchildren, Reyna Parker, Aleyna Parker, Mason Remillard, Dominic Remillard, and Jaxon Remillard; her siblings, Paula P. Odom (Lee), Mary P. Faircloth, and John Prestridge (Geralyn); sister-in-law, Vicki R. Rockett (David), and brother-in-law, Mike Remillard (Vickie); and her nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ann's life on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, beginning at 10:30am, with a Holy Rosary conducted by Father Louis Sklar and members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Winnfield, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana, followed by a funeral service. A cemetery service will be held at 1:30pm (arrive by 1:15pm) at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, Louisiana.
