On Saturday, April 15, 2023, Edward "Cotton" Ray Stockstill, of Pearl River, LA, peacefully entered his eternal resting place at the age of 72, in Arcadia, LA. He was a native of Pearl River, LA with no more than a 6 ^th grade education that spent his life working hard for his wife and four children.

A logger by trade, he also spent many years working in the oil field starting as a crane operator and working his way up to tool pusher, as well as starting and running his own successful business in his neighboring hometown of Picayune, MS. He spent a lot of his free time reading non-fiction novels, fishing, hunting, farming, and doing anything he could to spoil his grandchildren on the family hill to include building a fishing/swimming pond in the backyard, cutting several trails through the woods for dirt-bike and four-wheeler riding, and building whatever his grandkids could think of downstairs at the shop.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Edward Stockstill; his mother, Edith Frierson Stockstill; his sister, Edwina Stanley; and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Amber Crawford.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Teresa Ann Stockstill; his siblings, J.C. "Butch" Stockstill, Gaynell Stockstill, and Loraine Mitchell; his children, Elizabeth Modlin, Theresa Boyet, Jessica Crawford, and Edward Stockstill Jr.; his grandchildren, Allison Petit, Frankie Cochran, Todd Boyet, Evan Gutierrez-Faciane, Rudy Crawford, Steven Crawford, Davy Modlin, Samantha Modlin, Brooklyn Stockstill, Isabella Stockstill, Belle Johnson, and Kasen Ledet; his 6 great-grandchildren; his dog and best friend, Bridgett Stockstill; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.

As per his wishes there will be no ceremony or memorial.
