Edward Overton Plaisance, age 68, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024.  He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on December 20, 1955.  He attended St. John Burchman's Catholic School, Broadmoor Jr. High School, and graduated from C. E. Byrd High School in 1974.

Ed spent his adult life working as a crane operator supervisor, traveling all over the United States, meeting and working with people that he stayed in touch with through the years.

Ed had many passions, one of which was being a devoted LSU Tigers fan.  He loved working at the farm and driving the tractor.  He loved hunting and fishing and spent a lot of his retired years, working on and restoring an old army jeep.  He was an avid baker and loved cooking.  We called him "Eddie Crocker"!

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Plaisance.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Cole Plaisance; grandsons, Jayce Plaisance and Kody Gibson; granddaughter, Claire Williams; sister, Donna (DeeDee) Plaisance Soloman; nephew, Justin Soloman; aunt and uncle, JoAnn and Henry Bonner; many cousins; and let's not forget, his cat socks.

Visitation will be at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and funeral service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

The family suggests that Edward be remembered through donations to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Shreveport, LA.
