IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edith Nell
Lawrence
March 15, 1947 – October 24, 2022
Edith was born on March 15, 1947 and entered Heaven, Monday, October 24, 2022, having passed away peacefully at the age of 75. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She worked at Levi Strauss and as a chiropractic assistant where she met the love of her life John L. Lawrence who preceded her in death on August 26, 2020.
Edith was fabulous and earned many nick-names given to her by those that loved her. Some of those names include but are not limited to Edie, Edie Nell, Grandma Edith, and most notoriously, Grandma "Bling-Bling". Her incredible resilience and impeccable, sparkling style always shown through for others to see. Edith had a passion for bringing holidays to life for her family and everyone around her. She is well known for her extravagant holiday decorations that would span from her home to local hospitals bringing joy to patients. Edith also had a passion for preparing delicious southern meals including her signature spaghetti, beef stew (which had healing powers), potato salad, and deviled eggs. Edith treated everyone she met, even strangers, with the same amount of love, respect, and attention and will be deeply missed by those that loved her.
Edith is survived by her son Paul Murray Sr. & wife, Colette; daughter Paula Weeks; grandchildren Paul Murray Jr., Elizabeth Murray (fiancé Lauren Kelley), Emily Murray, Erica Murray, Kimberly Weeks, Christopher Weeks (Tara), and Cody Murray (fiancé Brook Hodge) and 9 great-grandchildren Zayvion, Khaleyah, Nikya, Mikaela, Jerimiah, Dakota, Zoey, Emma and Waylon; Sisters Mary Yates (Bobby), Bonnie Wilson (Bobby), Ruth Shaver (Jim), Janice Behn (Bill), Betty Moore (John), Kathy Bass and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Green and Lorraine Horn and brother Wilbur Green, Jr.
