Edgar Layne Irvin, age 79, passed away on February 27, 2023.
The funeral service will be held on March 11, 2023, at 11am, at Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 943 Pine Hill Road, Shreveport La 71107.
Officiating service will be Pastor Trevor McCleskey and nephew, Jarred Pellegrin.
Layne was born on November 28, 1943 in Coushatta, LA to Thomas Carville Irvin and Othella Owens Irvin. Othella, remarried a few years later to W.L. Cox (Slick), whom then loved and raised them.
Layne married the Love of his Life Janette, on March 10, 1967.
Layne is preceded in death by wife Janette Irvin and parents W.L Cox (Slick) and Othella Cox.
He is survived by his children, Aubrey Irvin and wife Terry and Crystal Irvin McClain and husband Barry. Brother Thomas Wayne Irvin (wife Kathy). Sister Marty Grafton (Bay/Sissy), Brother Mike Cox (Bubba) and Sister Debbie Pellegrin (husband Rick).
Grandchildren, Jeffrey McClain, Codi McClain Watson (husband Dillon), Jonathon McClain, Tara Irvin, April Hinkie, Jeremy Gates and Kandace Hudson.
Great grandchildren include Bentley Christensen, Savanna Hughes, Carter and Adeline (Addy) Watson, Cayden and Bryson Hinkie, Hudson and Bryson Hampton, Kali and Tristin Washington, and Gracie and Sawyer Gates.
Also, numerous nieces, nephews, family, church family, and friends.
