Eddie E. Rawls, 81, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away April 6, 2023 following a short hospital stay. The son of Earl Wayne and Dorothy Rawls, Eddie grew up in Robert, La. He was born April 17, 1941 in New Orleans, La. At the age of 17, Eddie enlisted in the U.S. Army and served 26 years before retiring. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Sergeant Major. As part of this service, Eddie was a tank commander serving in overseas posts of Germany and Korea, and received numerous medals that include the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Achievement Medal and the German Bronze Shooting Medal. Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Pamela Spears Rawls of Coushatta, La.; Son, Mike Rawls of Texas; Daughter, Crystal A. Mosier (Christopher) of Lakeland, Fl.; Son, Brian P. Rawls of Kentucky; Stepdaughter, Bridgette Brossette Crochet (Joshua) of Shreveport, La.; Stepson, Larry Benjamin Brossette of Coushatta, La; Grandsons: Skyler H. Bray and Kameron C. McQuillin; Granddaughters: Adriana M. Rawls, Trinity R. Rawls, and Sarah G. Rawls.; Brother, James Rawls of Port Vincent, La.; Sister, Judy Cooper of Conyers, Ga.; Aunt, Barbara Rodriguez of Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his brother, Glen Rawls of Corpus Christi, Tx. His loved ones remember Eddie for his love of country and family. A service honoring the life of Eddie E. Rawls will be held April 15, 2023 at 1 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church, Coushatta, La.
