In Loving Memory of Earl Bruce Robinson "The Governor," "Coach," "Hollywood" July 24, 1953 – July 21, 2025

Earl Bruce Robinson — affectionately known to many as "The Governor," "Coach," or simply "Hollywood" — passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025, just three days shy of his 72nd birthday. He was scheduled to return that very day to his beloved Cypress Point Nursing Home, a place he called "home," but instead, Bruce made his final journey — to his eternal home — where he no doubt arrived ready to be the life of the party.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. E.B. Robinson Jr. and Margaret Straughan Robinson, his cherished brother Frank Manning Robinson, and his precious niece Emilie Gabrielle North — all of whom he loved deeply and missed dearly.

He is survived by his devoted sisters, who stood by him with unshakable love and loyalty throughout his life. His elder sister, Sarah Margaret "Sig" Robinson, and her former husband David K. North Jr., with whom Bruce shared many meaningful years. His "favorite sister," Suzanne Robinson Brooks (Tony), with whom he shared a uniquely close and joyful bond.

Bruce was a proud and adoring uncle to Sig and David's children: Raegan North Comeaux (Stephen) and Jon-Bayan North (Allison); and to Suzanne and Tony's children: Holly Stuart and Daniel Brooks (Laura). He was also a beloved great-uncle to B. St. John, Bayan North, Cainen Duos, Ryker St. John, Hayden Comeaux, Emilie North, and Kenzie Comeaux — each of whom brought him immeasurable joy.

Bruce is also lovingly remembered by his extended family — Scott, Beth, Noah, and Adalynn Smith — who became an integral and treasured part of his life in recent years.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional staff of Cypress Point Nursing Home. Special thanks go to Mandy, Kavasha, Bonnie, Shanna, and Lakita, whose unwavering devotion and compassion brought comfort and dignity to Bruce's days. Deep appreciation is also offered to the teams at WK Bossier, WK North, and Intensive Specialty Hospital in Bossier, as well as to Auld's Funeral Home in Shreveport for their kind support during this difficult time.

A visitation will be held at Riverpark Church, 3232 E 70th Street, Shreveport, LA 71105, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on July 31, 2025. The funeral service will follow promptly at 2:00 p.m., with interment immediately afterward at Hillcrest Cemetery, 601 US Highway 80 East, Haughton, LA 71037.

In honor of Bruce's vibrant spirit, the family invites those attending to wear green or purple — a fitting tribute for those who know, IYKYK.

Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life filled with laughter, loyalty, and love — a life well-lived and deeply cherished. Bruce leaves behind a legacy of joy and resilience, and a reminder to always bring light into the room… and to never miss a party.
