Duane Elwood Tyler was born on July 21, 1950 in Jackson, Michigan. He went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2015. Duane was a Veteran & served his country in the U.S. Air Force and the Army National Guard. He was a member of Faith Temple Assembly Church of Bossier City, LA. where he had served as a board member, Royal Ranger leader & the leader of Honor Bound Men of Promise. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather & great grand-father. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Duane and Elsie Manzer Tyler and his daughter, Heather Tyler Garner. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bessie Willett Tyler, sons, Duane Elwood Tyler, Jr. and Joseph Tyler, daughters, Laura Tyler Silva and Mandy Tyler Kinsey, brother, Robert Tyler and sisters Margaret Bouchard and Teresa Logerquist, parents Robert and Barbara Jackman of Hendersonville, NC., Step-daughters, Tammy Vining and Cheryl Rogers. He leaves behind a large family including 12 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren & 3 step-great grandchildren and two beloved fur babies, Huggy Bear and Sassafrass (aka Baby Girl). Duane loved going to school programs, sporting events, band concerts or any activities where he could see the grandchildren participate. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00PM Friday Sept, 18, 2015 at Aulds Funeral Home 7849 East Kings Highway Shreveport, LA 71115. Following visitation, a Celebration of the completion of Duane's life on earth will be held in the funeral home with Bro. Rick Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery near Ringgold, LA. Pallbearers will be grandsons Chris Kinsey and Jackson Rogers, son-in-laws Russell Rogers and Dale Vining and friends Jerry Pilgrim and John Pilgrim who are more family than friends . In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors, Gideons International or charity of donor's choice. Isaiah 40:31- But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Duane has gained his wings and is soaring high in heaven.
