Doyle Wayne “Wayne” Smith Jr., of Black Lake, Louisiana, passed away on May 19, 2026. He was born on December 31, 1966, in Hodge, Louisiana.

Wayne is survived by his father, Doyle Wayne Smith Sr.; his longtime partner of many years, Sharon Wise; his children, Brenton (Lynsey) Smith of Jonesville, Louisiana, Bradley (Ashley) Smith of Georgetown, Louisiana, and BreAnne Jordan of Georgetown, Louisiana; his beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Isaac, Samuel, Layla, and Micah; his siblings, Loretta (Herbert) Womack of Arcadia, Louisiana, Tawnya Smith of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Yvonne Desadier of Black Lake, Louisiana, and Scotty Harper of Arcadia, Louisiana. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones who will cherish his memory forever.

He is preceded in death by his biological mother, Linda Harper; his stepmother, Brenda Smith; his stepfather, James Harper; his siblings, John McGillivary and Cindy Harper; twins Betty and Eddy; an infant sibling; and his grandparents, Bill and Docia Smith of Bienville, Louisiana, and Calvin and Katie Brimer of Lucky, Louisiana.

Wayne spent many years in the woods logging alongside his father, a life and work he truly loved. He loved sharing the Bible with everyone he met and knew it from front to back. Wayne deeply loved his children, enjoyed being outdoors, and never turned down a popsicle or a fresh plum.

Wayne would have literally given the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family, his strong faith, and the memories he shared with those who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Visitation will be held at 330 Sandy Point Road, Campti, Louisiana, on Monday, May 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin immediately following the visitation.

Wayne will be laid to rest at Goldonna Cemetery, 1215 N. Goodwill Street, Goldonna, Louisiana 71031.

Pallbearers will be Dwayne Roberson, Scotty Harper, Jamie Smith, Greg Moody, Colton Smith, Dalton Smith, AJ Peoples, Josh Hall, and Steven Buchan.
