Dorothea "Dottie" Rose Leanna, 68, passed away in Bossier City, LA on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from a long battle with COPD/Emphysema.

At her request, no service will be held.

Dottie was born on April 25, 1953, in Milwaukee, WI to Robert and Lois Getchell.

She loved her life and lived it to the fullest. Her love for all animals was well known, but she had a soft spot for her frogs. She enjoyed puzzles, games with family, and reading in her spare time.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Perry Leanna; her sister Sarah Getchell (Steve); her three children, Darlene Nielsen (Robert), Dale Currie, and Denise LaFave (Robert); 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. There are bountiful nieces and nephews, but she had a very close, special bond with Ruby Clark.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Rory Getchell, her sister Terry Paul, and her mother-in-law Mary Christensen.
