Donna Moore Duraczynski, age 82, passed away on January 21, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be at Auld's Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA, on Thursday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, at 1:00.
Donna was born February 24, 1937, to Maybelle and Frank Moore of Homer. She attended elementary and secondary school in Homer and later earned her BGS degree from LSU in Shreveport, where she majored in accounting. She worked at Homer National Bank in Homer in 1967 while her husband was stationed overseas. Then she moved with her family to Massachusetts, where she worked at Raytheon Company. In Concord she was a Girls Scouts leader and served as Bicentennial Hospitality Chairman. When the family moved to Keithville, LA, she worked as an accountant in the Fixed Asset Department at Crystal Oil Company in Shreveport until her retirement in May, 1995.
She served sixteen years on the Louisiana State Central Democratic Council. She was the founder of the Ark-La-Tex Paint Horse Club and served as president of the Southside Riding Club. Additionally, she was a volunteer leader for the Caddo Parish 4-H Club.
Donna enjoyed sewing from the age of six, learning on a treadle sewing machine. She loved crocheting, taught by her Grandmother Maude Moore, and made intricate Christening gowns for her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her latest skill was needle tatting.
Donna is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edward J. Duraczynski; son Edward J. Duraczynski, Jr. (Buster), daughter Debbie Bulliard and husband Guy, daughter Donna Leigh Reyenga; her beloved grandchildren Tara Nickles and husband Curt, Laura Messer and husband Stewart, Angelique Bulliard and fiancé Brad Melancon, Alexandra Reyenga and fiancé Matthew Morvan; great grandchildren Addyson and Fallyn Nickels, Charleigh, Presley, and Cypress Messer, Maddox Melancon, Ezra Morvan; sister, Sylvia Ann Moore Osment; sister-in-laws Carolyn Spivey Moore and Gloria Duraczynski Cannon; brother-in-laws Glynn Osment, Don Cannon, and Ray Bodziuch, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by infant Karen Kay Duraczynski, parents Maybelle and Frank Moore, sister Carolyn Moore Goodwin, brother David Moore, sisters-in-law Isabelle Bodziuch and Rita Chojnacki; brother-in-law Danny Chojnacki.
Pallbearers will be Guy Bulliard, Stewart Messer, Curt Nickles, Glynn Osment, Matt Morvan, and Ronny Moore. Honorary pallbearer will be David Moore, Jr. (Chip).
The family would like to express its appreciation to Dr. Richard Haynie and to her friend Jeanne Hays Atkins.
