IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald "Donnie"
Mason
February 26, 1955 – October 25, 2023
Please join us for a celebration of his life, a memorial to the man he was, and the legacy of love he left in his wake. We will be gathering in his honor on Saturday, November 18,2023,1pm, at the Tower Apostolic Church, located at 6000LA-169, Mooringsport, LA 71060.
Donnie was born on a Saturday in February 26,1955 to Earnest Wesley Mason and Arlene Brown Mason in Shreveport, Louisiana and left this world Wednesday, October 25,2023 in Vivian, Louisiana.
Donnie was so many wonderful things to so many people. He was extremely intelligent with a strong sense of curiosity which led him to travel and seek out a life beyond the conservative ways in which he was raised. He lived a happy and carefree life in which he "colored outside of the lines." There was something so pure and kind in his soul that he was never able to bypass someone in need. He is well known for spending hours trying to help people broke down on the side of the road. He was a hands on father, providing unlimited love and advice. He is loved and missed by everyone.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Arlene Mason, wife Susan Mason, sister, Carol Mason and brother, James Mason.
There is some peace in knowing that he is with those that went before him, some comfort to those of us left waiting to meet up with him in Heaven, some of which are his four children, Sherry, Donald, Jr., Joey, and Condessa. His 6 grandchildren, Kayla, Chason, Daisy, Jose, Marco and Perrla. He also has 4 great-grandchildren Armani, Amelia, Levi and Benji. SIL Justin and Wayne. Bonus grandchildren Daniel, Marcus and Addison. His brothers, Bobby, and Kenny. Sisters, Linda, Betty, and Judy. His Brother & Sister in Laws Carolyn, Kimberly, William, Art, and Reginald. Son in laws of another time Jason Myre and Lupe Hernandez. He has a MULTITUDE of nieces, nephews, friends, in-laws, and outlaws. In addition to all these cherished relationships there is a special mention for his niece Christy who was by his side through it all and his first wife and very dear friend, Audrey Mason.
He deserves a Viking funeral, a Mardi Gras parade, a special report on Channel 3, his favorite news station, however, being the humble man that he is, we have all agreed to a simple gathering of those who loved him in this life.
Please join us in remembering the kindest, funniest, and most loving man we have ever been blessed to know, our sweet father, Donnie.
