Donald Monroe Culpepper, age 76, of Haughton, LA, went to be with his Lord Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Presbyterian Medical Center in Denton, Texas. Mr. Culpepper was born April 21, 1933 in Paducah, TX. He was the youngest of 7 children born to Jack and Katie Culpepper. Don served in the US Air force, from 1953-1957, as the crew chief on a B-47. In 1958 he married the love of his life, Betty Faye Glass. Their union produced four children; Kevin, Rene',Darren and Laura. Don enjoyed a long 35-year career in Sales and Management in the Heavy Equipment business. In 1974, Don was ordained Deacon of the Baptist Church and faithfully served the Lord for next 35 years. He served on numerous committees, taught Sunday school, was the President of the Baptist Men's Association and served on the Board of the Louisiana Baptist Message from 1993-1999. His passion was pastoral support. Proceeded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and three great grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Betty (Glass) Culpepper; two daughters, Rene' (Culpepper) Bryson and Laura (Culpepper) Stever; two sons, Kevin Culpepper and Darren Culpepper; one brother, Eddie Culpepper; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church of Haughton at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 10, 2009 , with Bro. Howard Greer officiating.
