In Loving Memory of Don L. Brummett

March 27, 1953 – November 1, 2026

Don L. Brummett, age 73, passed away on November 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with renal cancer. A loving husband, father, uncle, and friend, Don had a way of making connections with those around him with his jovial nature. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone on just about any subject. Though his battle was difficult, he will be remembered for his strength and his love for his family and friends, especially those in his Saturday Barnes and Noble spit and whittle club.

Don was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, but later moved with his family to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1971. After high school, Don attended Louisiana Tech University where he majored in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering. While at Louisiana Tech, Don was awarded a prestigious 3rd place in the Engineers Day yearly competition for innovative project development. After beginning his own business, he also graduated from Centenary College with an MBA.

Don was a member of First Baptist Church. He was an avid Nascar fan, as well as a member of the Centaur Mardi Gras Krewe for 19 years.

Don leaves behind his loving wife, Karel Renae Brummett and daughter, Karen Aubrey Brummett. His was preceded in death by his other daughter, Robin Elizabeth Brummett.

Though Don's passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on. His family will forever treasure the moments spent together, the laughter they shared, the numerous trips to Disney World, and the memories that will continue to bring comfort in the years ahead.

Don will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends. Although his time on earth has come to an end, the love and memories he leaves behind will remain forever.

A small family memorial service will be held for family over the Thanksgiving holiday.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

— 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)
