Dominic "Domer" James Austin, 52, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on January 8, 2026.

Born on March 23 in Shreveport, Louisiana, Dominic was the son of Stephannie Austin and the late Roger Austin. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, a chapter of his life he cherished deeply.

Dominic was known for his deep curiosity and creative spirit. He had a passion for art, genealogy, gaming, and history, often immersing himself in the past while exploring and creating worlds through his interests. Those who knew him will remember his unique intellect and his sense of humor.

He is survived by his daughter, Brittanny Paige Austin, and her daughters Kilee Ann Austin-Wyatt and Madison Naomi Grantham; his son, Raymond Ouston, and granddaughter Ellie Rey Ouston; his sister, Danielle Austin Meshell, and her husband Billy Meshell, along with their children Haley de Andrade and her husband Skyler de Andrade, and Austin Meshell; and his brother, Gabriel Austin, and his wife Amber Austin, with their children Gabrielle Austin and Gavin Austin. He is also lovingly remembered by his mother, Stephannie Austin.

Dominic was preceded in death by his father, Roger Austin.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and time. His family invites those who knew and loved him to remember Dominic (Domer) in their own meaningful way and to honor the life he lived.

Those who truly knew Dominic understood that his life included both joy and struggle. He carried burdens that were not always visible, and at times, these struggles shaped difficult moments. Even so, he was deeply loved, and his life mattered. The family finds peace in their faith, trusting that Dominic is now wrapped in God's grace, free from pain, and resting in eternal peace.
