Derrick Coleman (68) was born September 6th, 1956, in Caddo Parish, Shreveport, Louisiana to L.C. Coleman and Lucille Bryant Coleman, who both preceded him in death.

Derrick attended Woodlawn high school, where he excelled academically. After high school,
Devoted to continuing his education, Derrick received his Bachelor is Psychology from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, LA in 1978.
Derrick enjoyed robust discussion on political issues, and matters of life. He would go on to become a social worker and then transition into the security field.

On January 21st, 2024, Mr. Derrick Coleman, made his earthly transition and entered a safe holding place until our Savior returns. He was preceded in death by his Father- L.C Coleman, his mother- Lucille Bryant Coleman, his loving wife- Wilma Venson Coleman, and his son- Derrick Matthew Coleman.
Those left to cherish him memories include his two loving daughters, Kristy Rogers (Zach) and Tracey Robinson (Reginald) ; one brother, Loren Willis (Bobbie); six grandchildren, Kaleb Stewart, David Layton, Zariah Rogers, Eliyah Robinson, Zoë Rogers, and Rhylie Robinson; his mother-n-law, Magnolia Venson; His step mother Creasie Coleman; along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives.
