Dennis Michael May

Dennis passed away on the morning of Thursday, March 4, 2021 after an abrupt yet fierce battle with lung cancer. He is preceded in death by his loving wife and companion Beth who he now joins in eternal peace and rest. He was a lifetime resident of Shreveport and worked at Caddo Parish Community Action Agency for 27 years.

He is survived by his brothers Steve May, Scott May, and his wife Lisa May; his sisters Jenny McDowell, Vicky Worsham, Sherry Bennett, and Lisa Pipkin; his son Zach May and daughter-in-law Heather, his son Justin May and daughter-in-law Leslie, and his step-daughter Samantha Roy and son-in-law Mark Roy; and his delightful grandchildren, Grayson, Adaline, Anna, and another May baby due in October. He is also preceded by his brother Matt May.

Dennis was a kind and funny man with a deep commitment and devotion to his family. He prioritized raising his sons above himself his entire life. He lived to see them both successful and happy with families of their own. One of his fondest memories was visiting Yankee Stadium with his boys to see his favorite team - the New York Yankees. He treasured his late wife Beth, her daughter Sam, and their grandchildren. He truly believed that you can always find your happy-ever-after if you surround yourself with family and true friends. He will be deeply missed by us all.

The family would like to express its great appreciation for his brother Scott who showed such love and care to his brother throughout his life and shepherded him through his final days. Likewise, his youngest son Justin and sister Jenny spent many days bringing comfort and support to Dennis. Thank you all for being there for him.

A memorial service will be held at Aulds Funeral Home on Thursday, March 11th at 11:00am. Masks are required . His friends and family are invited to his home afterward for lunch and a celebration of his life.
