Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Aulds Funeral Home. Dean was born August 17, 1941 and grew up with her twin brother Odie Gene Sparks. She has always had love for animals and could always be found laughing about something she was planning. Her laugh was infectious. She unselfishly gave back to others and brought joy to all she touched. Dean will always be remembered as a "Little Miss" and Miss America judge and director. She touched the lives of many children through pageants where lifelong friendships were made. Early in life she thoroughly enjoyed participating in pageants with her daughter Gena as she held numerous local, state, and world titles. She was also the biggest cheerleader to both of her sons' RD and Bubba. She could often be heard cheering them to victory at Boothill Speedway. She beamed with pride and proudly displayed all of her children's accomplishments. Dean was very active and loved running the roads with her friends. Dean is survived by her loving spouse Tom Bennett; her twin brother, Odie Gene Sparks, and his wife Sherri; son, Bubba Clower; daughter, Gena Alvarez, and husband Greg; granddaughter, Janessa Morgan, and husband RT; four great grandchildren, Ella-Kate, Brody, Parker and Noah; and her Yorkie, "Baby", who spent only one night away from her in over twelve years. Dean is preceded in death by her parents Odis Sparks and Dovey Sparks as well as her son, R.D. (Ron) Ashley. Honoring her as Pallbearers are Gene Sparks, Lane Longoria, Roy Gadd, Jeff Harrison, Wiley Holland, and Dallas Niette. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Alvarez, RT Morgan, Pete Jones, Bonnie Guillory, and Charlotte Blackburn. Heaven gained a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
