Dawn Degeyter Gipson, 54, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025.  Born March 14, 1971, Dawn was known for her compassion, creativity, and free spirit.

Dawn's two great joys were her daughter, Evelyn, and her step-Daughter, Marie, whose personal and academic accomplishments brought Dawn immense pride.  Dawn was thrilled to be able to attend Evelyn's wedding to Kyle Rugg this past June and thoroughly enjoyed this time spent with her family and friends.

A talented artist and exceptional cook, Dawn used her creativity to comfort and uplift those around her.  She devoted her life to caring for the young, the elderly, and the underprivileged, offering her talents and heart freely to anyone in need along with her infectious smile.

Dawn is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Rimer Rugg, and son-in-law, Kyle Rugg; husband, Eric Gipson and his daughter, Marie Gipson; former husband, Jonathan Rimer and his mother, Mavis Dudek; parents, Michael and Doris Degeyter; siblings, Brock, Lance Degeyter, and April Degeyter Brar; and many friends who will miss her dearly.
