Rev. Dr. David (Dave) C. Rovell, 67, of Duson LA, died December 29, 2015 at his daughters home in
Shreveport LA after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a Baptist minister for many years but found
his calling in the ministry of helping others. Many people were blessed by his generosity and his kindness. He is survived by 2 daughters, Dawn Bower and husband Bryan Bower. Katrina Evans and boyfriend Jay
Cougar. Grandchildren, Jeremy Breaux, Jason Breaux and Gracie Evans. And 1 Great grandson, Lucas
Breaux. Father Rev. Patrick E. Rovell Sr. and Mother Jean Duncan and husband Bill Duncan and brothers
Dan Rovell and Mark Rovell.
He is preceeded in death by his brother Rev. Pat Rovell Jr.
Born in Granville NY on March 16, 1948. David moved to Shreveport LA in Junior High and graduated from Byrd
High School in 1967. He graduated from Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary in 1975 and later received
his Doctorate in Theology.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday January 3, 2016 at the Grawood Baptist Church, 5841 Colquitt Rd, Shreveport, LA for local family and friends, and a second
Celebration of Life service being held in Lafayette at Abounding Grace Fellowship at 601 Kaliste Saloom Rd on January 5, 2016 at 6 pm.
