Obituary

Carl "David" Ferguson, Sr

It is with great sadness that the family of David Ferguson, Sr. announce his peaceful but sudden passing on September 7, 2022 at age 56, after an eight day battle with a surgical infection. When our Lord called upon David to come home he was surrounded by his loved ones whom he adored, his children and his siblings.

David's passion for his love for his family was genuine and unconditional. He absolutely loved with his whole heart and he will be greatly missed by his family and anyone that got the pleasure of knowing him.

David was quite comical even on a bad day. There was never a dull moment when he was around, and he loved to make people laugh. His most infamous and probably most favorite quote which he taught to every age appropriate child in the family was, "Fart in the wind and smell it". Everytime he said it, the room would fill with laughter. He was very unique and once you met David, you could never forget him. He was the proudest man I've ever met and he was the proudest of his 7 children and 13 grandchildren.

David will be forever remembered and loved by his life partner of 16 years, Amanda Sarrett, five children Danielle McVicker (Thomas), David Ferguson Jr. (Brandi), Chris Ferguson, Taryn Ferguson (Caleb aka Tiger), and Jordan Ferguson; two bonus children Michael Longino and Rebecca Longino aka Rowman; siblings Nanette Kemmerly, James Ferguson, and Steve Ferguson; stepbrother, Danny Perkins; 13 grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Mary; two brothers George and Roger; bonus son, Adam Klingingsmith.

A chapel service will be held at 11am Friday, September 23, 2022 at Aulds Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment of the urn will directly follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery, 130 E Stoner Avenue Shreveport, Louisiana, 71101.

Memorial donations or flowers may be made in David's name to Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 E Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA 71115.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to David's cousin, Debbie Smith, for the amazingly beautiful poem she wrote for him.
