A memorial service celebrating the life of Danny Ray Barnes, 73, of Benton, LA will be held at Benton United Pentecostal Church at 220 Pine Street Benton, LA on November 5, 2022, at 11am. Officiating will be Reverend John Campbell and Reverend Jerry Dean of the Pentecostals of Bossier City.

Danny was born November 22, 1948, in Springhill, LA to Lester and Leitha Barnes, and went to be with our Lord on Thursday October 6, 2022.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Leitha Barnes and brothers Kelly and Louie Barnes. He is survived by his sisters Princie Allen, Katie Peace and Ginger Barnes. Daughter Kimberly Lewis (Jimmy), grandsons Brandon, Daryl and Lane Lewis and 3 great grandchildren. Also 3 stepchildren who he loved and raised as his own Davey Holyfield, Shannon Pilkinton and Bobby Holyfield, along with their children and grandchildren as well as numerous family and friends.

Danny never met a stranger no matter where he traveled in life. He loved the outdoors and was happiest sitting on a creek bank with his family and friends or alone with his fishing pole and a can of spam. He enjoyed the simple things in life and will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Jackie Martin with WK Hospice for the comfort and care they provided to Danny at the end of his journey.
