Life is meant to be lived with curiosity, laughter, and a fierce spirit.
Daniel Cheung Tak Lok, age 75, passed away on July 18, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospice in Shreveport, Louisiana, surrounded by care and support.
Born in Hong Kong on January 24, 1951, to the late Cheung Hon and Cheung Yu Chai Ku, Daniel was the second eldest of six children. Driven by ambition and a strong desire to build a different life, he worked tirelessly in his youth to pursue higher education in the United States. Through determination, sacrifice, and grit during his early years as a student, he earned his degrees from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in Natchitoches, despite not knowing anyone.
A resident of Shreveport for many years, Daniel lived life with enthusiasm and simple pleasures. He was an avid sports fan, loved music and attending concerts, enjoyed cooking, sudoku, and could often be found trying his luck at the racetrack.
He is survived by his daughter, Alexandra Cheung; the mother of his child, Patricia Hii; and his five siblings: Tak On Cheung (Anthony), Tak Kwan Cheung (Philip), Tak Wo Cheung, Wai Chun Cheung, and Tak Cheung. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cheung Hon and Cheung Yu Chai Ku.
