John Daniel "Dan" Brown, age 68, passed away at Christus Highland in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 22, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 5, 1949 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He found a love for music and the guitar while in high school. He graduated from Natchitoches High School and attended Northwestern State University where he met the love of his life, Sheila (Hippler). They had two wonderful kids who blessed them with a beautiful granddaughter and 3 handsome grandsons. He loved getting together with his family. He enjoyed cooking and celebrating. He greatly enjoyed nature and had a passion for hummingbirds. He also loved worshipping with his church family at Fillmore Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James "Pete" and Barbara Vercher Brown, and one brother James David Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife Sheila (Hippler) Brown; daughter, Cashmir Faith Magee and husband Brian; son Christopher David Brown and wife Tiffany Ann Brown; granddaughter Alexis LeAnna Brown; grandsons Matthew Montana Magee, Robert Montgomery Magee, and Ian Paul Brown; sister Carol Awalt and husband Donald; brother, Jerry Dan Brown.

A visitation will be held at 9am on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Fillmore Baptist Church in Haughton (6304 Hwy 80), with the funeral service to follow at 10am. Burial will be at 3pm in Robeline, LA at 88 Friendship Road, Robeline 71469.
