Shreveport, LA. - Cyrus M. Morrison, Jr., age 77, lost his battle with cancer on January 31, 2014. He was born in Shreveport, LA on September 13, 1936 to Cyrus M. Morrison, Sr. and Eva Laird Morrison. He was raised on the family farm where he developed a passion for farming. He lived in Shreveport for most of his life, where he met his wife of 58 years, Patricia Shinn. He volunteered for the U.S. Navy and served in active duty for 4 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus Sr., and Eva Morrison, and his sister Charlotte. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Shinn Morrison, and children Melissa, Cyrus III, and Toby. He was a loving grandfather to 5 grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Jared, Jacob, and Nicholas. His warm and generous heart and sense of humor will be dearly missed. He never met a stranger, and always left a lasting impression on those he met. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the family homeplace on March 1st.
