IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia
Camper-Jenkins
February 17, 1956 – January 24, 2020
Cynthia 'Dianne' Camper -Jenkins passed away Friday, January 24th 2020 @ 4:40 PM at her home & permanent residence for the last 25+ years, located 1715 Hwy 787 Coushatta LA in presence of, her only child Star Lynn & living grandson Draken W. Arnold and her beloved & trusted best friends and confidants; brother Larry D. Camper and aunt Maggie Smith-Weaver, and life long friend Goldie Taylor, per her final wishes; Dianne took her last breath & drifted away peacefully, in her sleep, at home in bed - The same home where her eldest grandson in 2015, husband in 2011, and maternal mother in 2008 all took their last breaths as well as she cared for them through their final days - The same home where Dianne cared for and comforted all the lost, neglected, abandoned & dumped animals & souls who showed up at her doorstep in need of love, care & acceptance.
Dianne was born February 17, 1956 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio TX and preceded in death by grandson Warren Maddox St Arnold, granddaughter Aurora Grace Arnold, husband Joseph A. Jenkins, father Clarence Marlin Camper, and mother Bettie J. Smith, who was a life long resident of Coushatta LA since her birth in 1935 at the same location & residence of her death in 2008, as well Dianne's husband was a previous owner of Faustos Fried Chicken and co-owner of DiJoComputers until his death in 2011 both businesses located in Coushatta LA .
Dianne is survived by a multitude of family, friends & acquaintances – both young and old. She is described by those who knew her best as a unique, one of a kind individual, who loved her grandson, nature, all God's creatures, both great and small, ...but not bugs. Dianne took in every stray dog, cat, & horse that came to her door needing care and love, and will now always be remembered as a tender-hardhearted person who put the wants, needs, and health care of those around her before her own. Dianne held strong to her Baptist beliefs & trust in God as she struggled to come to peace with life, loss and grief. In the years preceding her death, Dianne became peaceful and dedicated to becoming the best Mother to her daughter and best friend, role-model & ' Grammie ' to her treasured grandson - to the point she stopped smoking, drinking & all communication(s) with toxic people. Dianne didn't even drink her Coca-Cola anymore because it was "part of the old me" as she put it. Dianne kept a warm home, full of toys, love and positivity, with a welcome sign on the wall & three (3) rocking chairs for visitors;
(1.) For those who come.
(1.) For those who go. and
(1.) For those who stay.
God choose to take her home while she was happy, joyful, at peace & at her best – SHE WILL BE MISSED!
Dianne's wish was to be cremated wearing her mothers' shiny, gold, silk gown so her soul can be released as a blazing bright beacon of light & her remains be buried next to her mother, beneath her own headstone, in the Smith family plot - where she can reunite with family, friends and loved ones who preceded her. Dianne's Memorial Service will be graveside Sat. Feb 1st 2020 @ 12:00 PM & is reserved for beloved family & friends @ Liberty Church Cemetery on Liberty Church Rd. in Martin, La.
Immediately following the graveside service, beginning @ 1:00 PM, anyone who wishes to honor Dianne, celebrate the life of, mourn the death of or simply reunite with family members, is welcome & encouraged to gather in the Banquet room of Faustos Chicken & Seafood where there will be a music, happiness, refreshments and No Tears!, where you can order a meal, sit & relax, or take a break & reminisce about the good ole days. *Children of any age are welcome.
In lieu of flowers and plants which will wither & die, the family kindly requests anyone interested in showing your condolences, to please choose a PET rescue, organization or shelter and make a donation of any amount in memory of Dianne so both her name & vast love of animals and nature may continue on.
As well the Arnold Family would like to acknowledge and give a special thank you to Larry Camper, Maggie Smith-Weaver, Wanda Gray and Greg Layfield for their ideas, participation, help, support, planning and organizing efforts during this very difficult time, it would not have been done this expediently without you all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being our guardian angels during our transition from mother to motherless - we love you all.
