Creighton Gerald Wilson, Sr., 70, of Springhill, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Shreveport on October 21, 1952, to the late James "Dave" and Hazel Louise Wilson. He was a 1970 graduate of Springhill High School and a 1975 graduate of LSU. After college, he completed ministerial training at Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock, Texas.

Creighton's love for learning and travel provided him with many varied experiences in his life. In high school, he was a bull rider and athlete. Later, he became a high school science teacher, coach, and bus driver for more than 30 years in Texas and Louisiana. Additionally, he was a preacher at various churches in Oklahoma, New York, Texas, and Louisiana. His love of astronomy led him to study at NASA's solar observatories. He was always ready for the next road trip or unusual opportunity.

Creighton is survived by his children, Rachel (Adam) Kitzmiller of Searcy, Arkansas; Angela (Mike) Crane of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; and CJ (Traci) Wilson, of College Station, Texas; grandchildren, Ethan, Heather, Bethany, and Tabitha Kitzmiller, Ace Crane, and Adelyn Wilson; sisters, Donna Powell of Memphis, Tennessee, and Freida (Randy) Cave of Taylor, Arkansas; a large extended family, and a lifetime of friends.

A memorial reception will be held, Saturday, October 28, at 1:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. at the Plain Dealing Church of Christ, 501 E. Palmetto Ave., Plain Dealing, LA 71064.
