Connie Sue Powell, age 79, of Ashland , LA passed away June 12, 2019. She was born in Pleasant Hill, LA on June 28, 1939 to David Soloman Terrell and Katie Orene (Foster) Terrell. She was a longtime beautician.

She was preceded in death by her parents, late  husband A.R. Jowers, brother David Keith Terrell, grandson Dustin Hogan, son Richard Brooks Powell.

Left to cherish her memories are, husband N.B. "Sonny" Powell, sons Tony Hogan, Jeff Hogan and wife Ana, Tim Hogan and wife Kim, Tommy Powell and wife Holly; daughters Sonia Hogan, Fonda Moseley and husband Paxton, Rhonda Guin and husband Gerald, and Robbie Gardner and husband Damon; brothers Jack Terrell and wife Elsie, Dean Terrell and wife Nina, Arnold Terrell and wife Lynn; a sister Inez Johniken; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special brother-in-law B.W. (Bubba) Powell, and sister-in-law Josie Terrell, and previous husband James Hogan.

Memorial Services will be held June 21, 2019 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church 5404 LA 783 Coushatta, LA 71019. Visitation will begin at 1 PM with services starting at 2PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church 5404 LA 783 Coushatta, LA 71019, or the Ashland Masonic Lodge # 196 165 Powell St. Ashland, LA 71002 or the charity of your choice.
