Christy Michelle Gasper (Watkins)
February 6, 1975 – May 30, 2025
Christy Michelle Gasper, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2025, at her home in Stonewall, Louisiana.
Born on February 6, 1975, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Christy spent the majority of her life in the close-knit community of Stonewall. She built a beautiful life raising her children and made lasting friendships while working for many years at the infamous Texaco. Christy had a heart full of warmth and laughter, touching the lives of everyone who crossed her path.
She was known for her love of fishing, crafting with her grandchildren, creating beautiful wreaths, enjoying lively card games & a good crawfish boil with family and friends. Christy had a mischievous sense of humor and a gift for bringing joy to others — if she wasn't playfully teasing you, she just hadn't gotten to know you well enough yet! She especially loved the excitement of a fire truck or ambulance chase, often finding her way to the sirens to see what was going on, even when not invited.
In recent years, Christy rededicated herself to her faith, embracing a deeper relationship with the Lord and sharing that light with those around her.
Christy is survived by her mother, Mary Bufkin; siblings Melissa Covington (husband Hunter) and Shane Bufkin; former husband of 30 years, Daniel Gasper; children Beth Cliburn (husband Marshall), son Tyler Gasper (wife Tori), and niece, whom she loved as a daughter, Haily Pinnick (husband Jared). She cherished her grandchildren — Ryleigh and Gracie Cliburn, Kennedy and Walker Gasper — as well as nieces Natalie and Peyton Covington, and nephew Jaxon Bufkin. Her lifelong best friend,Jessica Bryant, was a constant in her life, as well many loving family members and amazing friends. She is preceded in death by her father Ricky Bufkin and father-in-law Bennie Gasper.
A celebration of Christy's life will be held on June 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71115.
In lieu of flowers you can donate to support the placement of a memorial bench in her honor.
Christy's laughter, love, and spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
