Charles
Womack
May 13, 1966 – May 20, 2026
Charles D. Womack, born May 13, 1966, in Coushatta, Louisiana, passed away on May 20, 2026. He had an unwavering spirit of perseverance and acceptance, always putting family first. His core values and faith were unshakeable. He touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was our “True North.”
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Averitt, and his two older brothers, Edwin Womack and Darrell Womack. He is survived by his loving wife, Melanie Womack, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, including Bennie Womack and Christal Womack.
Charles found the greatest joy in life’s simplest pleasures. He cherished time with his family and beloved pets, duck hunting, bass fishing, old westerns, and barbequing.
He had an undeniable work ethic and was known for being first to the job. He was very instrumental and proud of the Louisiana and Arkansas highway and interstate projects he was a part of, notably survey and construction layout for I-49. If you had the opportunity to work with him, he was not only a mentor but a friend.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life to honor him at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Friends of Bossier Law Enforcement, Inc., PO Box 850, Benton, LA 71006, Passion for Pooches pet rescue at www.passionforpooches.org or a charity of your choice.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, wisdom, and compassion that lives on in all of us.
