Charles Conway Latham, 68, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on July 15, 2025, peacefully and surrounded by his daughters, Sarah and Jessica.
Born on July 30, 1956, in Shreveport, LA, Charles was a skilled electrician who took pride in his trade and had a lifelong curiosity about how things worked. He had a quiet strength, a sharp wit, and a unique way of seeing the world.
Charles had a deep love for the simple joys in life. He enjoyed fishing, whether it was for the catch or the calm. Charles could often be found exploring estate sales, collecting forgotten treasures and pieces of history that spoke to him. He had a knack for finding beauty in the overlooked and value in the unexpected.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Conway Latham and Juanita Ard Latham; his sisters, LaJuan Hodgson and Brenda Williams; his beloved son, Charles Earl Latham; his brothers-in-law, James Williams and Newton Hodgson; and his son-in-law, Shawn Stroope.
He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Stroope and Jessica Lapsley; his son-in-law, Brian Lapsley; his cherished grandchildren, Elijah Lapsley and Evangeline Lapsley; and his sister, Beverly Edberg.
Charles will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his individuality, and the memories he leaves behind. His presence will be missed, and his story will live on in the lives of those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at Auld's Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115, on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
