Charles Ellwood Baldwin
February 22, 1935- November 13, 2022
Charles Baldwin of Shreveport, La. Passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022. He was born in Jenkin Jones, West Virginia and described himself as a country boy. His parents were Reverend Roy and Dolly Baldwin.
Charles {Chuck) was a man of God, Country and family. He served in the US Navy in Norfolk, Va. He graduated from Lee College with a degree in Theology.
Charles was a wonderful husband to his loving wife Janis for 29 years and a loving father to his children. He was friend to his siblings and a helpful son to his parents.
His favorite things to do included spending time with family, Saturday lunches with his daughters, reading the bible and bragging on his family, but most of all listening to Jan sing his favorite hymns and country western love songs. He was a great storyteller and loved to reminisce about his West Virginia upbringing.
Chuck was a true disciple and he exhibited this through his love for others. He made friends at Walmart, the bank and everywhere he visited frequently. He was a good listener, forgiving and kind and made a lasting impression on all he met. This was very evident to the staff at Willis-Knighton North. The Family would like to thank Dr. Anthony Stuart and all the physicians and nurses who participated in his care. We would also send a special thank you to Kristi, his RN who took the time to sing a favorite hymn at his bedside.
Charles will be remembered by his wife Janis, his sister Delores Crouse husband Alonzo and his daughters Rhonda Peters and husband, George; Lisha Harrington and husband, Pat; stepdaughter, Amy Flores; stepsons Kevin Farkas and wife, Katie; Joseph Farkas and wife, Melanie; Matthew Kroff. He leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shreveport Bossier Rescue Mission. Memorial Services will be held 2pm Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd. Keithville, La.
