Catherine Mary Jefferson, age 73, went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2018. She passed

peacefully, while in the presence of family members by her side, at her home in Jamestown,

She is preceded in death by her father Patrick Cullen of Baltimore, Md..

She had been retired from LSUMC where she was able to practice her lifelong passion of caring

for others. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, travel, the outdoors, meeting people, and spending

time with family and friends. Her love of life and sense of humor were contagious to all that were

fortunate enough to meet her. She had never "met a stranger".

Her nicknames were "Kitty", "MiMi", "MeMaw", "Mrs. J" and "Mary Catherine".

She is survived by her Husband of 54 years, John "Ed" Jefferson Sr.; daughter Terry Lynn

Jefferson; two sons, John E. Jefferson Jr. and wife Renee Simpson Jefferson, Richard A.

Jefferson and wife Casey Hester Jefferson; sister (in-law) Missy Jefferson-Clampitt and

husband Mike and son Nick; grandchildren, Christopher Jefferson and wife Cristin Jefferson,

Catherine Sharp, Haley Stroud and husband Marty Stroud, Jennifer Townley, Hannah Jefferson

and fiance Jeremiah Wood, Savannah Jefferson, Sarah Jefferson, Chandler Jefferson, Taylor

Hester, Amber Pressey Lewis and husband Jason Lewis; great-grandchildren Landen Jefferson,

Skylar Stroud, Waylon Stroud, Elaina Wood, Camden Cause, and numerous other relatives and dear friends.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the nursing staff at Ochsner LSUMC ICU,

Minden Medical, and Aime Hospice Care.

A very special thanks to Fire District 6 (Castor Fire Dept.), where her husband "Ed" Jefferson

has been the longest continuous service member for 28 yrs.

There will be a private memorial held for family and friends.
