Cassondra Ann Shanks

Cassondra Ann Shanks, 69, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2023. She was born on June 25, 1953, in Homer, Louisiana, to Johnnie and Barbara Hartsell.

Cassi was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She had a tender and loving heart for all of God's creatures. Her love of animals was one of her most prominent traits. Her cats were her "babies," and she proudly wore her title of "cat mom."  She enjoyed laughing, music, and soft, fuzzy blankets.  As a friend and mother, she was a fierce protector and secret keeper. She showed compassion at the perfect times but also defended those she loved with all her might. She made everyone she knew feel loved and wanted.

Cassi was a member of Barksdale Baptist church and devoted to the Lord Jesus. In recent years, she made the decision to be baptized. It was a decision and memory that stood out to her as one of the best days of her life. Our family thanks Barksdale Baptist members for embracing Cassi in Christian love. A special thanks goes to Cassi's Sunday school class, the "Women of Worship," who helped her so much in her growth in faith, in her love of Christ, and aided her during her long illness.

She is survived by her husband, Keith Shanks, of 39 years, her sister Lisa Hartsell, son Eric Von Einem and wife Ashleigh, daughter Leanne Prather and husband Luke, granddaughters Kyleigh Fletcher and Jemma Prather. She is also loved by many relatives and friends, all who will miss her dearly.

Memorial Services will be held at 10AM on Monday, January 30th, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 E Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71115, following by a burial service at HillCrest Cemetery 601 US-80, Haughton, LA 71037.
