Carol Fay Ward, a devoted mother and grandmother, departed this life peacefully at her home in Shreveport, Louisiana, on March 17, 2026, after a lengthy illness. She was steadfast in her love for her family and was known for her selfless spirit, always placing the needs of others before her own. Carol also had a deep love for pets and all animals, finding great joy and comfort in their companionship. Her greatest hobby and passion was caring for her dogs, whom she loved dearly. Carol came to know her Lord and Savior and faithfully gave Him praise throughout her life. In her later years, she lovingly and devotedly cared for her mother, whom she cherished deeply.
Carol was born on March 11, 1962, in Rockingham, North Carolina, to Kenneth Calvin Ward and Wanda Donaho Beech.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Ward; her beloved son, Frank McLaughlin; her sister, Delores Tramel; and her brother, Allen Ward.
She is survived by her loving children: Brandy McLaughlin; Dexter Stutts Jr. (D.J. Stutts) and wife Crystal Stutts; Danny Stutts; Tony Stutts; and Jerry Stutts.
Carol was a proud and devoted grandmother to Carolyn Atencio and husband Ray Atencio, Coltin Stutts, Austin Stutts, Justin, Remington, Nathan, and Izabelle Stutts, and several other grandchildren.
She was further blessed with two great-grandchildren, Carolee and Brodyn, who brought her great joy and pride.
She is also survived by her siblings: Sue Kaufman and husband Richard Kaufman, Karen Davis and husband Tommy Davis, and Kenneth Ward Jr., and many nephews and nieces, whom she loved dearly
Carol will be lovingly remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering devotion to her family, her love for animals, and her strong faith in the Lord. Her life leaves a lasting legacy of love, sacrifice, compassion, and quiet strength. Though she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, resting in the eternal care of her Savior.
The Memorial Service will be held at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 E Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71115, on April 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and a memorial service following.
Officiating will be Dr. Richard D. Kaufman and Pastor Wade Deforest
