IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Coon
Lotspeich
October 7, 1941 – December 6, 2018
Shreveport, LA - Carol Coon Lotspeich, 77, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away December 6, 2018, after her battle with breast cancer.
Born October 7th, 1941 in Shreveport, Carol graduated from CE Byrd High School in 1959 and continued to be a proud supporter of the Yellow Jackets. Prior to her retirement in 1990, she was employed by IBM where she met many people who became life-long friends.
An active member of Grace Community Methodist Church, she particularly enjoyed the fellowship in her weekly Bible study classes. She loved to travel, lunch with her friends, and spend time with her family, especially her 6 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Jerry, her father Alonzo, her mother Helen, and her brother Jim. She is survived by Stephanie, Caroline, John and Leigh Anne: their spouses Jeff, Jonathan, David, and Nick; and grandchildren Jackson, Sinclair, McClain, Cameron, Camden, and Avery.
Carol was very fortunate to have an eclectic group of both life-long and recent friends that she thought of as family. She gave great advice (both solicited and unsolicited) and tried to put a positive spin on any situation. She frequently said "Things work out best for those that make the best of the way things work out."
We would like to say a special thank you to the CCU staff and nursing staff on One South at Christus Highland; Dasha Lewis, who became a fast friend and part of her family while taking care of her; Dr. Paul Schuler for his wisdom, expertise, and for taking care of the "whole patient"; and to the staff at Aime Hospice.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of choice.
