IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carl
Trant
January 1, 1970 – March 5, 2025
Born January 1, 1970, Carl made the headlines in the newspaper, being the first-born twin on the first day of the year in Minden, Louisiana. Carl grew up in Shreveport with his 3 brothers, and sister. He attended Holy Rosary elementary school and graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1989. He also attended Fair Park High School for a short time in 1986-1987. As a member of both the Fair Park and Woodlawn marching bands, he played clarinet at numerous football games. He attended the City College of San Francisco starting in 1994 and obtained a BA in Hotel Administration. While attending college he worked at Safeway working in the dairy department. In 1996, he obtained a coveted position when he was selected to work as a Longshoreman at Pacific Maritime Association. He worked his way to being a crane operator loading and unloading cargo ships until he moved back to Shreveport in 2015. Carl passed away at home on March 5th, Ash Wednesday, 2025.
He was always laughing, playing, and loving life. He was known as the sleeping giant and loved to play act Captain Chaos in his younger years. He was a great gardener and loved animals. A few years ago, he put up flyers all over a neighborhood tracking down a turtle to return it to its habitat. AND he succeeded. He took in strays including Mathew, a sandy red dog with a broken leg.
He loved to travel. He was one of the Three Amigos when traveling with his brothers. He rafted, hiked, drove and visited the world. He went to such places as Land's End, Maine, Charleston, S.C., Yosemite, Yellowstone, London, Italy, France, and Maldonado Islands.
He never met a stranger and would help all the "strangers" he met. He was a wonderful son who could be relied on to take care of things. He took care of his mother up until his death. He had a kind heart and a loving soul. He will be missed.
He is survived by his mother, Arleen Trant, his brothers David Trant (Heidi), Christopher Trant (Margarita), Weldon Trant, his sister Margorie Trant Hull (Jimmie), his uncle Emmet Lux (Gail), his aunt Doris Lucius, his cousins, Michael Lux, Jeffry (Sandra) Lux, Pamela Lux (Richard), his nephews and nieces, _Zachary McClain (Erin), Riley Hemby, Chris ina Trant, Samantha Humphries, Angel Renee Trant, Kayleigh Ann Mayfield, Christopher Mayfield, Levi Heflin, and Peyton Hull. He is predeceased by his father David Henry Sr., his adopted father Weldon Trant, his grandparents Emmett and Margorie Lux.
