Carl Ray Nicholas was born on May 20, 1938, to his parents Russell and Vera Nicholas of Stamps, Arkansas. He went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 14th surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Vera Nicholas and sister Avis.

Carl Ray worked for Riley Beard for many years. He was well known in the horse industry. He was a legendary cowboy. Not only known for his own accomplishments but the impact he made on many others.

Left to cherish in his memory are his wife Linda Nicholas, his children Tonia Fryer and husband Paul, Ray Nicholas and wife Vickie, Tammy Nicholas, Stepdaughter Leslie Holder and husband Paul. He leaves behind his grandchildren Cole Echols and fiancé Lauren Leflett, Noah Becker, Morgan Becker, Austin Fryer, Adam Nicholas and wife Ashley, Rachel Silva and husband Francisco, Hailey Holder, Bailey Holder, Tiffany Wood, Brittany Smith, and Colten Nicholas; Great grandchildren Brayden Echols, Arrow Minnie, Britton Reid, Francisco, Jr. and Andres.

He is also survived by many extended "family" and friends.
