Carl was born March 11, 1935 in Granite City, IL. He was a man of many interests. After graduating from Lakeview High School in Decatur, IL, he joined the United States Air Force. After retiring from the USPS, he worked for many local sports affiliations coaching and officiating from athletic trainer at Centenary College of Louisiana to the food beverage director for the Shreveport Captains. His role as the trainer of the Centenary's girls' gymnastic team was his favorite out of his various roles in the community. Among many of his interests and involvement in the community, he was a Mason, a Shriner, and a former commander of Post 6 of the American Legion. If he was not making gumbo, then he enjoyed relaxing with a cup of Jack and Diet Coke while watching sports or old westerns. Carl's outgoing personality and continuous involvement in the community allowed him to touch many people's lives.
