IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brittney Lynn
Foster
November 20, 1996 – February 22, 2020
Brittney Lynn Foster was born November 20, 1996, in Shreveport, LA and passed from this life February 22, 2020, at the age of 23 years, 3 months and 2 days. She was preceded in death by her mother, Amy Lynn Foster. Brittney is survived by her maternal grandparents, Freddie and Fran Foster of Shreveport, LA; her sister, MaKenzie Hope Foster of Minden, LA; her uncle, Mark Foster and wife Kristi of Concord, NC and cousin, Kristen Foster of Kansas City, MO; her son, Walker Dean Oden of Shreveport, LA; her father, Jeffery Brian Lowe of Ballinger, TX; and a host of family and friends left to cherish her memory.
Brittney was a lifelong resident of Shreveport where she attended Shreve Island Elementary School, Caddo Middle Magnet and Caddo Parish Magnet High School. She was good student, an avid reader and was an outstanding writer, receiving praise from many of her teachers. She also excelled in drama and performed in school plays.
She attended Christ United Methodist Church all her life where she was active as a child participating in children's programs and plays, served as an acolyte, and sang in the children's choir as well as the youth choir. She was also very active with the CUMC Youth where she took part in many community activities and mission trips over the years to help those less fortunate. As a young adult she enjoyed the Contemporary service at CUMC.
Brittney was also very active in the Girl Scouts. She began as a Daisy at the age of 4, and then moved up to Brownies, Juniors, Cadette's and finally Seniors, earning too many badges to count. She earned her Silver Award which is the highest honor a Cadette can achieve and her Bronze Award which is the highest honor a Junior can achieve. With the help of her grandparents at Girl Scout booths, countless Girl Scout cookies were sold by outgoing Brittney over the years. She enjoyed her time volunteering in the community and loved spending time with all her friends at all the camporees while earning her badges.
Brittney was an avid swimmer and at one time was a member of the COSST.
Brittney was very friendly, never met a stranger, had an exuberant personality and always had a beautiful smile. She loved her family and friends and she was always a good friend to those she loved. She has left us at an early age but take comfort in knowing that now she will spend the rest of eternity in the arms of her mother.
A visitation will be held at 5pm Friday, March 6, 2020 at Christ United Methodist Church with a service beginning at 6pm.
