BRIAN CHRISTOPHER KEMP

April 11, 1970- June 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Brian Christopher Kemp, who departed this world on June 9, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on April 11, 1970, in Waterloo, Iowa, Brian was a cherished son, brother, uncle, father, and friend. His spirited presence and infectious laughter will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Brian was the loving son of Evelyn and Edward Kemp. He was loved by his siblings: Teresa Kemp Lee and her husband Kevin, Scott Kemp and his wife Christy, Debbie Cox and her husband Jason, and Heather Brown and her husband Keith. Brian's legacy lives on in his son, Jaylen Kemp, and his life partner, Melanie File.

Brian's family roots were strong, grounded in the love of his predeceased grandparents, Jerry and Florence Kruithof, and Joseph and Sue Kemp. His father, Edward Kemp, also preceded him in death. In addition to his immediate family, Brian was a beloved uncle to five nieces and four nephews, and he was blessed with the joy of four great-nieces.

His professional life was marked by dedication and passion, working as a tow truck driver for most of his adult life. Brian took immense pride in his work and found joy in it, making friends and sharing laughter along the way. His colleagues remember him not just for his work ethic, but for his ability to brighten any day with his goofy grin and infectious laughter.

Brian's passions extended beyond his work. He loved John Deere tractors and was an avid fan of Nascar, going to the dirt track races, joining others across the country playing driving games online, and watching WWE wrestling every Monday night.

Brian had a unique way of showing affection. Those fortunate enough to be called "Psycho" by him knew they held a special place in his heart.

There will be a Celebration of Life held to honor Brian at a future date. As his family, we find solace in knowing that Brian had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and is now pain free in Heaven.

Brian’s departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will forever remain with us, guiding us through the moments of laughter and joy he so cherished. May he rest in peace, free from pain, embraced in the eternal presence of Jesus.
