Burrow
November 16, 1942 – January 6, 2021
Brenda Joy Burrow aka Inky, at the age of 78 passed peacefully at home in Shreveport, La. on January 6, 2021. After a long-fought battle with illness, Inky is now free of pain and at peace being reunited with her true love, her husband, Jamie.
Brenda was born on November 16, 1942 in Brent, Alabama to William & Martha Jean Hunt. She was preceded in death by her soul mate and husband, James Edward Burrow. She leaves behind, 2 sons, James "Jay-Bird" Burrow (Tonya Burrow) of Shreveport La, and Tracey Burrow (Cheryle Burrow) from Brandon, Ms. She will also be missed by her 3 grandchildren, Jami Leon (Randy Leon), Jason Burrow (Lesley Burrow) and Lauren Burrow. Our Inky was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren, Paige Helfinstine, Dakota Burrow, Russell Burrow, Dylan Franco, Chase Laurence, and Halle Laurence. She is also survived by her sister, Billie Jean Bowlin and Brother-n-law Fred Bowlin. She is survived by 2 nieces, Jana McCrery (Jim McCrery) and Charla Snelling (Greg Snelling) both of Shreveport, La. Inky was also proud of her great nephew, Tyler Snelling and 2 great nieces, Colvin Pruitt and Mary Snelling.
Our Inky was a Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend. She had the sweetest smile and laugh and was not afraid to speak her mind. Touching and shaping so many of our lives, we will always miss and cherish our memories of her. One of her favorite things to do was to spoil the animals around her with treats and affection. She loved animals, especially her "Camper" dog that went on before her. We know she has her best fur friends by her side with Camper and Mr. Smith there to greet her.
We would like to thank Dr. Veluvolu and all his staff at Willis Knighton Cancer Center in Shreveport for all their efforts and encouragement during these last few years. We would also like to thank St. Joseph's Hospice for being there for our Inky, for showing her such kindness, compassion, and care. Inky was able to go home with dignity, peace, and comfort. Not just anyone can do this job, it really takes someone special. Thank you for helping and guiding our family thru this difficult time, there was so much stress lifted due to the caring help we received from St Joseph's Hospice.
