Greenwood, LA - Brenda Louise Nickel Brocato left this life to be with her beloved Lord Jesus on May 20, 2014 after an extended illness. She was born on April 14, 1957 in Bossier City, LA. Brenda was loving and fiercely protective towards her many friends and family members. She was endowed with an innate sense of duty to help and care for everyone in her life including all God's creatures big and small, and rescued and cared for many cats. Her hearty laughter and independent spirit will be deeply missed by her family and friends, Barry Hart, Martha and Roger Bell, Emily Anders, Carla Baird and daughter Brittany, her Aunt Mildred Nickel, and cousins, Gavin, Michael and Erik Nickel, and nephew Brett Herring. Brenda was preceded in death by her mother , Joy Faye Wheeler Leadman, her father, Charles Nickel, sister Beverly Nickel, and infant sister Penny Fay Nickel, and her beloved cat George. A memorial service will be held at Aulds Funeral Home Chapel to celebrate her life on May 31, 2014 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pet Savers Shreveport.
