Obituary

Bonnie Foley, 71, of Haughton, LA, passed away on August 14, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 31, 1951, in New Orleans, LA.

She retired from Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent after 30 years' service. She was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.  Anyone who knew Bonnie knew of her love for animals, especially her horses. She was a life member of the American Quarter Horse Association and a Charter member of the American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians. After her retirement, she worked on a part time basis at the Haughton Veterinary Hospital for about 15 years. She was deeply involved with the Haughton Riding Club where she had many friends. She achieved numerous awards from her participation in various tournaments over the years.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Miriam LaFitte Edwards & Lt. Col. (Ret.) James H. Edwards, her oldest brother Bobby Newsom and her youngest brother Glenn Edwards and by her only child, Charles Dwayne Hight and her second husband Chuck Foley.

She is survived by brothers Jimmy Edwards of Pleasant Hill, LA and Bruce Edwards of Shreveport, LA, first husband Bob Hight of Pelican, LA and numerous nieces and nephews scattered here and there. Her wishes for cremation will be honored and a memorial service to be held at a later date at the Haughton Veterinary Hospital in Haughton, LA officiated by Pastor R.J. Wolfe of the Cowboy Church where Bonnie attended. Many thanks to all her friends and neighbors who looked after her and helped make her final days as comfortable as possible.
