Billy Joe Erie, age 86, of Shreveport, LA passed away on January 28, 2024.  He was born on October 29, 1937, in Henderson, TX.  He was past owner of Electric Supply Company in Shreveport, LA and he loved his work.  He is a member off Ellerbe Road Methodist Church and a United States Navy veteran who served on the USS Razorback submarine.  He was a longtime board member of the Shreveport Bossier Rescue Mission and taught Sunday School at the juvenile detention center in Shreveport for more than 20 years.  Billy was a member of East Ridge Country club and golf was a huge passion for many years.  He was a longtime coach in football, baseball, and basketball for SPAR and various schools attended by his kids and grandkids.  Billy loved Alabama football and being around his family no matter what that entailed.  He was an adventurous man who worked in Vietnam during the war, went skydiving on his 70th birthday, and learned to fly airplanes.  Billy loved God, golf, and his family.

He is preceded in death by parents Alfred and Hazel Erie, brothers John Erie and Jerry Erie, and a sister, Pat Harper.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Erie; daughter Cindy Howell and her husband John Howell; daughter Katy Blount; daughter Tracy Lea; son Chadwick Erie and wife Lilian Erie; sister Barbara Hawks; 5 grandchildren Steven Polk, Katelyn Blount, Hannah Blount, Carson Blount, and Grayson Erie.
