Obituary

It is with great joy and celebration that the family of Billy Roy announce his going to be with the Lord in heaven after an arduous battle with illness. Growing up a native in Gibsland, LA, Billy was born June 28, 1953. He attended Gibsland High School for most of his education and graduated from Gibsland-Coleman High School in 1971. Billy Roy had a love of science that evolved into his decision to attend Northwestern State University where he obtained his bachelor of science degree in nursing in 1991. Billy Roy thoroughly enjoyed medicine where he worked in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at both Doctors Hospital and LSU Medical Center until he later moved on to work in several dialysis units across Shreveport. He was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where he attended for 27 years. Billy Roy's hobbies included watching murder mysteries on ID discovery and spending time with his beloved canine companions Sassy, Winston, and Jax. He loved to learn and read everything he could get his hands on, thus becoming an avid history buff.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, William Riley Chreene, his mother, Addie Mae Chreene Darden, his sister, Anne Poole Dale, his mother-in-law, Nancy Ross Moore, his father-in-law, James Shelby Reily Jr., his brother-in-law, John Ross Moore, his nephew, Carter Scott Moore, and his step mother-in-law, Linda Nicholson Reily.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gail Reily Chreene, his daughter, Kathryn Chreene Waldrop, his son in law, Jonathan Gregory Waldrop, his sister, Nancy Chreene Dobbs and her husband Ronald Dean Dobbs, and his brothers-in-law, James Paul Moore and his wife Kelly, Charles Lavon Moore and his wife Debbie, James Shelby Reily III, Kevin Nicholson Reily, Richard David Reily, Dale Bryant Reily, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Billy Roy (Bear) Chreene, 64, on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Broadmoor Baptist Church's Memorial Chapel at 11:00 am.  Dr. Larry Williams of Broadmoor Baptist Church will officiate.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to all of our family and friends for their support and care during the past few months.  Your prayers, calls, texts and visits have brought great comfort to our family.
